That history is still visible today along a beautifully preserved historic Main Street lined with shops, the Calico Rock Museum & Visitor Center, and landmarks like the 1903 Bank of Calico Rock building.

These days, the White River is the town's biggest draw. Calico Rock sits in the heart of trout fishing country, with easy access to Norfork Dam and the tailwaters that make this stretch of river famous among anglers nationwide. It's also centrally located for exploring some of the best natural attractions in the Ozarks, including Blanchard Springs Caverns, the Ozark National Forest, and the Buffalo National River — all within about a 30-minute drive.

Life here moves at a slower, more relaxed pace. Downtown Calico Rock has become a magnet for artists, retirees, and outdoor enthusiasts drawn to its riverside setting and small-town charm, and the local school district serves the community with its own elementary and high school.
